8:30 pm Update

This just in....Paul is finally making the great escape!

It is true, Paul is coming home to Kirkland tomorrow. He will be flying to Sea-Tac on a medical airplane and then from there to Evergreen Hospital in an ambulance. He will be residing in the acute rehabilitation unit at the Hospital.

Kathi is celebrating her last night in the recliner in the hospital room where she has been sleeping the last 6 nights with Paul.

Please try to limit phone calls to Paul and Kathi over the next couple days and no visitors while he gets settled and learns his rehab schedule. We will let you know as soon as he can have visitors. Paul is as anxious to see you as you are to see him!

We will update the blog daily and let everyone know how rehab is going.

Both Paul and Kathi are so excited to come home and be with family and friends.

See you all very soon!

Paul and Kathi,

I guess all of our prayers for you have finally been answered. Such good news to hear you are finally coming home, at least to your home town. We look forward to your continued good progress and please know our continued get well wishes will be with you every day. Kathi, so glad to know you will get to sleep in your own bed after all this time. See you soon.

Dear Kathi & Paul,

The sun came out for your return...it's only 30 right now, but we haven't seen the sun for a long time.

I'm so happy to hear the good news...Kathi, you need to build up your strengnth and you will be getting such good support from your family and all your friends. For as bad as its been for Paul, I can only imagine what you and the girls have been through.

You can't ask for a better Hospital than Evergreen...I know because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the care that I have recieved there on more than one occassion! Having Paul close to home is medicine in itself.

Welcome back to Seattle...There's no place like home!

It's great news to hear that both Paul & Kathi are returning home. We hope Paul's recovery process will be on a steady rate, now that he will be back in Kirkland.

This is great news! Wish you guys could of done rehab in the sunny desert though. However, having any sort of bed rather than a recliner or hotel probably sounds fantastic to all family members at this point. Please continue to update us regularly so we don't have to bug you all. We get requests for updates on Paul from all over the state! This is great news you all are coming home. Onward and Upward!

This is great news, and I hope that the trip back is both quick and smooth. Paul, I visited a bit yesterday with Craig Lowe, who did not know of your accident. He is not good on the PC so I said I would send on his wishes for your recovery. We watched a bit of Felix's fine pitching to give the M's the season opening win. Take care compadre, and you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

YAHOOTIE !

That is the best news we have heard! I cannot think of a better place to be than in rehab in a hospital. That is exactly what my Mom did and it went so well!

Thank you for all the updates. Kathi, your family network is awesome.

Yeah--Mr. Kirkland is home! So happy for you. Know there's lots of hard work ahead. But you have your network behind you--just call and we'll be there.
