Saturday, 1:00 PM Update

Paul's having a good day today. He even made a few phone calls, including one to Jeff Dorian to check to see how things were going at work.Paul knew all the numbers from memory.

The tube that drains his stomach had been removed from his nose.

He is now being allowed unlimited ice chips, which makes him "so happy."

Dialysis again today for 3-1/2 hours, but his urine output is improving.

He has a new nurse he's dubbed "Atilla the Hun." According to Kari, Paul said she "already chewed his ass twice today." That ought to be good entertainment.

His scapula surgery has been pushed back to sometime next week.

Paul's been watching some of the NCAA tournament, and is napping now so he has the energy to watch Wazzu play later this afternoon.

Asked Kari how everyone is holding up, and she said they improve with Paul every day. Kari sounded very relaxed and in good humor.

Paul, Kathi and Family,

What great news to hear about Paul today. It sounds like he is really improving. We all know if he is able to watch sports it will improve his mental state of mind. Will be glad when we hear he gets his root beer float.

We sure appreciate getting the updates and if anything good has come out of this it is that some of us have become a little more educated on the computer.

Our thoughts are with all you everday. Keep up the good spirits.

Well, guess who Nicholas' girlfriend is? Meagan Montgomery. Kari Orr's sister's daughter. What a small world! Just thought you would love the weirdness of it.

Glad to hear that Paul is doing so much better. We continue our prayers for him and wish him the best with his upcoming surgery.

Dear Kathi and Family,

Someone give Paul a box of candy for "Atilla the Hun" and tell him to give her a piece of chocolate every time she does something he wants or likes...and nothing if she doesn't listen! She will soon come around!

...I also hear that they make a root beer flavored dental floss - perhaps that will satisfy Paul's craving until he can actually get his lips on that root beer float!

They've scheduled the 'BCCC Annual Meeting' at the club for today and I'm sure there will be many wanting an update on Paul's progress. We will be happy to share Shawn's report that Paul is doing better, better, better...keep it going!!!!
